Thanks to all WANT’s volunteers! Our volunteers are an indispensable part of making West Andersonville the great neighborhood that it is. Dozens of West Andersonville neighbors contribute in a myriad of ways: from maintaining the beautiful community garden, to organizing and staffing annual events like the yard sale, block party and Ghostly Garden, to serving on the WANT board or on a committee, to creating and distributing the WANT newsletter.
We celebrated our volunteers this past Sunday with a Volunteer Appreciation Party – we hope everyone had a great time! It was a chance to meet and mingle with other volunteers (and enjoy some snacks and drinks on a beautiful early fall day). If you’d like to come next year, all you need to do is volunteer! All help is appreciated, whether it’s an afternoon working on the garden, an evening handing out donuts at Ghostly Garden, or a year as a board member or committee chairperson.
Special thanks to Dorothy Nygren and Marty Stewart for organizing the event (and taking all the pictures!), and to local friends-of-WANT Metropolitan Brewing for donating a delicious case of Krankshaft and Phoenix Bean for donating a selection of yummy tofu bites to the party!
