Remember Chicago's Shoveling Law!
With recent bitter colds, it gets harder and harder to drag out your shovel and clear your walks. But remember, if you're in charge of a building, whether as owner or tenant, it's your responsibility to clear the walks. Our diverse neighborhood includes the elderly and people with physical challenges, who may end up house-bound when walks go uncleared. Check out this post at Edgeville Buzz for the specifics on how Chicago's shoveling law works. Note that the City provides "snow corp volunteers" to aid those who need help with snow removal. Please call 311 to request help, or to report a property that is not in compliance with the law.
