Join Bowmanville Community Organization on Wednesday, April 12 to learn about their new plan to expand the Gateway Garden. The Gateway Garden is the space on the opposite side of the Metra tracks from our West Andersonville Gardens. Our neighbors in Bowmanville has partnered with NeighborSpace to develop a plan to purchase, preserve, and expand the current garden space. They hope it will be something beneficial to the entire local community.

"Our (very doable) vision is to create spaces for year-round food growing, accessible gardening for the elderly and persons with disabilities, ecological education for kids and parents, and a quiet oasis in our dense urban environment. However, this dream will not be realized without significant participation from the community.

BCO is now working to raise $50,000 in funding in order to purchase the space. They have set up a public meeting for everyone in the community who is interested in learning more about how their plan will impact the neighborhood or how to contribute.

Please join them Wednesday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Rogers Park Montessori (1800 W. Balmoral Ave.) to learn more!
